Banks' Net Profit Falls in Feb

The net profit of banks in Albania slightly decreased to 2.1 billion leks (Dollar 20 million/ Euro 16.2 million) at the end of February, from 2.57 billion leks a year earlier, according to data published by the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB).
The Albanian banking sector's outstanding loan portfolio slightly increased to 599.9 billion leks as at end-February from 597.9 billion leks a year earlier, AAB said in a monthly report, citing data of the country's central bank.
Deposits in Albania's banks increased to 1,163 billion leks as at end-February from 1,149 billion leks a year earlier.
Albania's banking system's total assets grew to 1,442 billion leks in February from 1,400 billion leks a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) decreased to 900 million leks, from 1.1 billion leks. Return on equity also decreased, falling to 8.6 billion leks from 11.1 billion leks in February 2017.
The figures comprise the financial results of 16 Albanian banks. The largest by assets among them are Banka Kombëtare Tregtare (BKT) and Raiffeisen Bank Albania.
