Employment Trends in Albania: No School-Yes Business

The World Bank has published its latest report on the trends in employment for 2016-2017 in the Western Balkans region, taking into consideration also the countries that are part of EU.
The cluster of low wages is the problem for low standards in pay roll for the entire region. Albania holds a regional record for self employment, but these individuals, according to the report, have not even enrolled in high school.
The statistics shows that in Albania, people with tertiary education are reported to be employed in the private sector. Whereas there has been reported an elevated number of people employed with secondary education, in Albania the highest numbers is of individuals employed with university diploma.
According to the report, Albania has the highest number of part time employment in the region, almost 20% of its domestic market. Bosnia & Hercegovina and Serbia follow with respectively 10.6% and 9%, while other countries in the region have 5-6% like other countries that have joined EU during 2004-2013. Albania is the second country in the regain when it concerns emigration rates, reporting 1.05 million.
