Some 1000 cypresses were planted along Tirana's big belt-way on Saturday as part of the municipality initiative for 100.000 trees planting until March 21.

These trees were donated by the Trans-Adriatic pipeline as a token of appreciation for the work done by the municipality to increase greenery in Tirana.

Mayor Erion Veliaj thanked the TAP Pipeline for this generous contribution which he labeled as another forward step toward the final objective of 100.000 trees planting.

"The fact that TAP-Pipeline chose to join the municipality initiative is a clear indicator that every business or private citizen may contribute by giving a breath of fresh air to the city. We are working with high intensity to achieve the predefined objective until March 21 and even go beyond the 100.000 trees figure," said Veliaj.

He declared that trees planting initiative gives the opportunity to every citizen to leave his green trace in the capital.
