Eight drivers were arrested while a total of 1618 fines were imposed by the police only last weekend in Tirana - Durres highway.
These drastic measures finalized a blitz raid conducted in one of the district's busiest axes aimed to punish the violators of the Road Code.
A total of 73 driven permits were revoked for a number of violations, like driving above speed limits, failure to fasten the seat-belt or driving under the effects of alcohol.
Road Police urges the drivers to respect the road signs and drive within speed limits avoiding accidents that may take human lives. The police also underlines that all axes will continue to be monitored in order to impose severe restrictions to the violators.
