Himara's Polyphonic group and 'White Sheep' ensemble of Pilur brought last night the magic sounds of Albanian folk music in the National Historic Museum premises.
Their joint concert was organized under the artistic direction of poet Kristo Çipa and brought on stage two of the most renowned singers of polyphonic songs, Ermioni Merkuri and Katina Beleri.
This activity was also a commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the registration of polyphonic songs in Paris.
The Albanian Iso-Polyphony is seen as one of the most precious elements of Albanian folklore and the global folklorist tradition in general.
It has been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List as a master piece of verbal heritage.
