The young Albanian artist, Melita Çekani is being successfully presented to the audience in Tirana through an exhibition titled ‘A piece of home’. The exhibition opened the gates a few days ago in ‘COD’ hall, part of Prime Ministry premises.

Through 13 works made in the oil and water-colour techniques she has chosen to bring back the attention on the stone city of Gjirokastra and its unique architecture through a very interesting artistic point of view that accentuates the houses and cultural heritage.

The artist also conveys an appeal for cultural richness preservation through her exhibition.

“I chose to present various works of different genres, including those realized while I was here and those that were completed in USA. The stone city of Gjirokastra has always impressed me with the houses, architecture and cultural heritage,” said Çekani, who currently studies in the USA.

The young artist’s exhibition will continue to welcome the visitors until February 10.
