Businessman Denounced for VAT Fraud Scheme, Arrested

Two weeks after he was declared wanted by the Economic Crime for fraud with VAT, the businessman, Sokol Bali, was arrested on Tuesday.
He opened 50 fictitious businesses creating a fraud scheme, benefiting USD 9 million through reimbursement of VAT bills by the state.
With the request of the Prosecutor Ndini Tavani, the Tirana Court has imposed 11 arrest measures, 6 of which have been executed by Tirana police, and 6 are still wanted.
The arrested persons are:
Dhimitraq Celo, 23;
Bujar Murataj, 31;
Indrit Sulaj, 30;
Shkëlqim Hasani, 50;
Ruzhdi Murataj, 60;
Nevruz Lami, 36.
