Bushati: Negotiations Opening as Soon as Possible

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, in the framework of a regional tour in the Baltic countries, conducted a visit to Lithuania on Tuesday.
He held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Linas Linkevicius, discussing the main topic of the cooperation between the two countries and the importance of revitalizing economic cooperation.
Minister Bushati informed his counterpart with the reform processes in Albania, focusing on judicial reform, and the measures undertaken by the Albanian Government in fulfilling the five key priorities of the integration process, focusing on the opening of accession negotiations.
From his side, Minister Linkevicius confirmed Lithuania's support for a positive decision to open negotiations for EU membership with Albania this year and praised the constructive role of the state in the Western Balkans region as a stable factor for stability and regional cooperation.
Also, Minister Bushati held a meeting with members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on European Affairs and members of the Group for interparliamentary Relations with the Western Balkan Countries in the Lithuanian Parliament to discuss over integration process.
