Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj labels the Albanian capital as one of Europe's safest cities. He declared on Monday that this fact is confirmed by the statistics released by European Agency 'Numbeo'.
"The fact that Tirana is labeled as one of Europe's safest city by 'Numbeo' is a confirmation of the positive work done by the municipality. The municipal police make an average of 700 interventions per day compared to only 7 per day three years ago. Of course, it does not mean that the city has more problems than before. On contrary, it's an indicator of citizens increased confidence on the local authorities," said Veliaj.
He made this declaration during a ceremony organized in the framework of an agreement signature between the municipality and State Police. This agreement enables municipal police officers training and qualification in the Police Academy.
