The planting of some 20 cypresses commemorated on Saturday the 1st anniversary of death of the renowned writer Dritero Agolli. The creation of this small garden, which from now on will be part of Tirana’s Lake Park, is part of Tirana municipality initiative for trees planting.

Mayor Erion Veliaj praised this initiative undertaken by Devolli’s relatives and readers while declaring that this area will serve as resting place for the park frequent visitors.

“This angle of the Lake Park will be dedicated to some of Albania’s most prominent figures. The objective is to transform this garden of cypresses into an area of relax where people may sit and read Agolli’s books,” said Veliaj.

He also forewarned the imminent inauguration of a bust of Dritero Agolli in the park as remembrance of a man beloved by every booklover in Albania.
