The Central Elections Commission (CEC) addressed a request on Wednesday to Prosecution asking for additional information over its request to remove the mandate of two MPs.
CEC approved with 4 votes in favor and 2 against the SMI representative Gezim Veleshnja proposal to require additional information from the prosecution for the mandate of Gledion Rehovica.
A two-day deadline was given to the Tirana Prosecution to hand over the additional materials supporting the alleged violation of the decriminalization law by Rehovica. Prosecution claims that Rehovica hid in the decriminalization form the fact that he had been subject to criminal proceeding in Italy on grounds of robbery.
A similar request for mandates revocation has been presented to CEC by Tirana Prosecution even for the MP of the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity (PJIU), Aqif Rakipi.
