The Road Police appeals to drivers for caution during the New Year’s celebrations. Through a public statement on Sunday, only a few hours ahead of the arrival of 2018, the Tirana Road Police director, Erion Ahmeti addresses an appeal to drivers urging them to show maximal caution and avoid sitting behind the wheel under the effects of alcohol.

“I wish to extend an appeal to the drivers on the New Year’s eve. Let’s celebrate the arrival of a new year by respecting the rules. Do not sit behind the wheel under the effects of alcohol but use the public service vehicles. Zero tolerance will be shown by the Road Police toward those drivers that fail to comply with these rules. Violators will face severe restrictions in accordance to the Road Code,” declared Ahmeti.

In conclusion he stressed that additional police presence will be seen on the streets during these days aiming to guarantee citizens safety and avoid any possible incident.
