The renowned artist Agim Sulaj is being successfully presented in Tirana through an exhibition titled "Roots 2" that includes some 27 works with various topics. The exhibition, opened a few days ago in 'Plaza Hotel' premises, presents to the visitors the artist's latest artistic creations. It includes also works like "The Refugees Briefcase" that was awarded the first prize in London in one of the most important competitions organized by "The Derwent Art Prize".
The artist takes a look back to the real Albanian identity through this artistic proposition.
"I present a mosaic of topics in this exhibition. I am focused on the Albanian's portrait, something that we don't often see in present days, a mountaineer and a South Albania man. I focused also on the man's traditional costumes seeking portraits with no make-up but expressive," said Sulaj.
Meantime the artist said that one of his biggest dreams is to realize the 'Refugees' Briefcase' in bronze and showcase it to his city of origin, Vlora.
"Roots 2" will welcome the visitors until end of February 2018
