Albania and Italy Sign Memorandum on Justice

Albania and Italy sign a memorandum on justice that is expected to further enhance the bilateral cooperation in the legislative and penal aspect. This memorandum was signed by the Albanian Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj and her Italian counterpart Andrea Orlando during his official visit to Tirana on Tuesday.
The Italian minister declared that Italy supports Albania's European integration, while adding that memorandum's signature serves to this purpose. Referring to the opening of accession negotiations minister Orlando stated that justice reform progress will be determinant for this process.
"The justice reform output during the first semester of 2018 will play a key role. It's not up to us to set a date but Albania has fulfilled the preliminary conditions for the opening of this process," declared the Italian minister.
Meantime the Minister of Justice, Gjonaj underlined the Albanian government unwavering commitment for justice reform progress, adding that memorandum's signature will serve as impetus for its implementation in the legislative and institutional aspect.
