The Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) parliamentary group chair, Petrit Vasili reacted on Monday over Prime Minister Edi Rama offer to opposition for the election of a temporary chief-prosecutor.
He denounced the chief of executive attempt to capture this position and institution, while stressing that the rule of law is endangered.
"Premier Rama dares to say that he has the right to elect a temporary chief-prosecutor. Who gave him this right, the narcotics traffickers? This declaration has neither a legal nor a constitutional basis. The juridical service of the Albanian Parliament clearly explains that 84 votes are needed.
Does the chief of executive have the requested number of votes? Or he chooses to disregard, deny or just forget the legal explanations that do not please him?
If he goes on and chooses the chief-prosecutor only through majority votes that he definitively turns into a political bandit and majority into a criminal organization," declared Vasili.
He stressed that the government's overthrowing through only mean and instrument is only response to this illicit attitude.
