A catastrophe similar to the one registered during flooding of 2015 was avoided thanks to the government’s successful investments. Prime Minister Edi Rama underlined this fact during an inspection on Sunday of the situation generated by the floods in Ure Vajgurore, part of Berat district.

“Thanks to the extensive and successful investments eyeing area’s protection from river overflowing the houses and agricultural lands that two years ago were under water did not experience the same situation. The government will continue to assess the embankments’ weak points in order to resolve once and forever this problem,” declared the chief of executive.
Meantime Berati city hall started the aids distribution for the families affected by the floods. Food, blankets and beds were given to 20 Roma families whose houses were flooded due to the Osum river overflow.
