Flooding, Army's Troops on the Ground to Provide Assistance

Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) was on alert on Friday to help the citizens cope with the floods situation all over the country.
The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka underlined this fact while presenting a report of the Army troops' interventions during the last hours.
"The AAF responded with utmost commitment to the difficult situation generated by the heavy rainfall of last night. Some 500 troops were deployed in the worst-affected area, mainly in the districts of Tirana, Durrës and Gjirokastra. Over 315 people have been evacuated so far thanks to the prompt intervention of AAF troops.
A 5-months child along with the mother was evacuated not long ago in Fushe-Kruja. Meantime medical assistance is being provided to 13 people that were evacuated during midnight hours in Valias.
Human and technical resources of the AAF have also been deployed in Fier and Vlora districts where the situation is expected to get worst based on the weather forecast," said Xhaçka.
