The Civil Emergencies and Crisis Coordination Commission addresses an appeal to the citizens on Friday urging them to act with maximal caution on view of the problematic situation generated by the dense rainfalls. The appeal is related to the increasing risk of inundations in many areas where the level of water during the last 12 hours went up to one meter.
According to the meteorologists the situation is going to get worst in the incoming hours, in particular in the southern areas due to the massive rainfalls.
On view of this situation Civil Emergencies invite the citizens to avoid trips by foot or with a car in the road axis blocked by the water or where there’s a risk of inundations and follow a series of steps that would prevent the loss of any human life.
“The citizens, whose houses are located in proximity of rivers, dikes or areas that are always subject to flooding should remain in alert ready to be evacuated within the shortest time possible if situation gets worst. Do not park your car near the rivers because the risk of inundation is much higher in those places. Keep your mobile phone always fully charged in order to alert the authorities at any moment if situation deteriorates. Citizens are also advised to keep the radio or TV open for receiving notices that may be provided by the competent authorities,” advices the Civil Emergencies.
