Businessman's Car Explodes in Tirana, Motives Unknown

A car has exploded during morning hours in a residential area of Tirana. The ‘Wolkswagen’ vehicle, platted AA946EF, had been parked in proximity of Botanic Park. Luckily no victim or injured person was reported due to the powerful blast that completely destroyed the car.

The police examinations on the scene ascertained that a quantity of 200 grams of C4 explosive had been placed under the car while the detonation had been done through a remotely controlled device.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that the vehicle belongs to a businessman identified as B. Vrapi, 42. He was immediately questioned by the police about the possible motives of this grave episode but declared that he had no conflict with anyone.

The inquiry aiming to shed light on the motives of this serious episode is already underway. The inquirers are following several leads related to the businessman’s activity and personal life.
