Tirana, Prenk Jakova's 'Scanderbeg' Enchants the Audience

Numerous opera-lovers were enchanted by Prenk Jakova’s “Scanderbeg” opera magic that was brought on stage on Monday evening by the National Opera and Ballet Theater (NOBT).

A chorus composed by 50 students of Tirana schools came on stage beside the soloists, the orchestra and the NOBT chorus. This opera was presented to the public as a gift in the framework of the November holidays.

“Scanderbeg” opera was presented for the first time on stage on January 17, 1968 with music written by Prenk Jakova and texts of Llazar Siliqi under the musical direction of Mustafa Krantja. This opera returned on the stage after more than 44 years on June 19, 2012 in occasion of the 100th anniversary of independence.
