Cultural Heritage/ 80 New Masters Certified

Gjirokastra, Berat and Korça will from now have 80 certified masters and assistants for stone, wood, metal and plaster work in historic buildings. Certificates issuing was enabled thanks to the project "Skills for Employment of Tomorrow", brainchild of by Chwb Albania.

A special ceremony, organized in the framework of this project in Fines Arts Academy premise, was attended by the Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro, CHWB Albania Director Leyla Hadzic and representatives of National Regional Directories.

The old restoration specialists gave an essential contribution to this project by training with a lot of passion in theory and practice the new generation of masters.

The "Skills for Employment of Tomorrow" project, funded by GIZ and SIDA, aims to maintain traditional techniques, qualify people operating in this area, increase the quality of the works (according to restoration and conservation standards) as provide major employment opportunities for young people and Albanian emigrants who decide to return to work and live in Albania.
