‘Scanderbeg’ prevailed with 3-2 score on the Ukrainian team of Dinamo Kiev in the 5th match part of the Europe League qualifying rounds. Coach Ilir Daja’s team performance in this match, which was played in an empty ‘Elbasan Arena’ due to an UEFA verdict for fans expulsion, was very good indicating that these players may now compete as equals with other teams part of this competition.

Helas, in spite of this triumph Scanderbeg said farewell to this tournament due to the fact that Partisan of Belgrade defeated Young Boys managing to be qualified for the next round.

This was not an easy match for Korça’s team that suffered a goal at 16th minute but the response came only two minutes later with Lilaj who equalized the figures with a perfect shot from the distance. The 2nd half saw a more determined Scanderbeg that initially got the lead with James and then deepened the score with Sowe.

The guests shortened the distance at 91th minute and even neared the draw but Kadar failed to find the net at the last minute.

After this victory, Skanderbeg will end the European adventure on December 7 with the match against Young Boys and at least for the now should enjoy the EUR 360.000 obtained thanks to the victory on Dinamo of Kiev.
