'Brdo-Brijuni Process Initiative, Key Role for Balkans Integration'

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta met with Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor in Lubiana in the framework of an official visit to Slovenia on Thursday. Both interlocutors stressed the important role that the Brdo-Brijuni Process initiative may play in Balkans region development, as well in the preservation of EU's focus on this region and the enlargement process continuation with concrete steps.

They also praised the latest progress and developments in the Balkans region, and shared the same view on the need for better coordination of attitudes and actions by the countries of the region.

The Albanian Head of State expressed the deepest gratitude for the comprehensive support that President Pahor and Slovenia have given to Albania not only in the bilateral aspect but also in the framework of the European integration process for the whole Western Balkans region.

President Meta also expressed the confidence that Slovenia's support for the forthcoming EU accession negotiations would play a significant role encouraging reforms continuation and fulfillment of the necessary criteria and standards.
