Environment's Pollution ‘clashes' Prime Minister Edi Rama with Shkodra Mayor Voltana Ademi. "Let's clean Albania that we want" cleansing initiative, announced on Tuesday by the Premier Rama generated an immediate reaction by Shkodra's Mayor. The latest declared that the funds allocated to the local authorities for this purpose are insufficient.
"No additional fund has been allocated to the local authorities for the garbage's sector. Thus the local authorities face the impossibility to implement this initiative only through taxes collection. Nothing can be solved by imposing severe fines on the citizens," said Ademi.
In a quick response PM Rama declared that garbage's removal and environment's protection are direct responsibilities of everyone, especially the local authorities.
"Garbage's removal should be seen neither as a game nor as instrument of debate with central governance. Higher amenability should be shown by the local authorities. This is the key element that leads to a definitive solution of this problem that is absolutely not related to the funds' absence," declared PM Rama.
