Road Police Blitz Raid in Tirana, Drunken Drivers Arrested

Some 4 drunken drivers were arrested while a total of 18 driving permits were suspended during last weekend by the road police in Tirana during a blitz raid aimed to increase road safety in the capital. Numerous check-points were set up in different areas of the city while severe fines were imposed to the drivers that did not use the seat-belt or exceeded the speeds limits.

Even those citizens who we caught while driving a motorcycle without wearing the protective helmet were severely punished by the road police.

The Road Police informs the citizens that the raid aimed to increase safety in the streets will continue thus urges them to drive within speed limits, fasten the seat-belt and avoid the use of alcohol before seating behind the wheel.
