Poor nutrition seems to be among Albania’s main problems. A report recently released by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) indicated that at least 290.000 Albanians are subject to poor nutrition due to the impossibility to enjoy a decent meal three times each day. FAO’s report shows that 10% of Albanian population is infringed by the poor nutrition prevalence.

FAO indicator refers to the figures reported by all countries during a period of time from 2014 to 2016 and the 10% figure reported by Albania is the highest in Europe. In comparison to the average of South Europe where this figure is the equivalent of 1.6% of the population the difference seems to be high. The same report shows only 1.4% of Bosnia’s, 1.8% of Montenegro’s and 4.1% of Serbia’s is subject to poor nutrition.
