Italy’s disqualification from the 2018 World Cup qualifiers was without any shadow of doubt a big surprise for everyone on view of the fact that one of the Nationals who wrote football’s history remained outside this competition. Furthermore, players such as Buffon, Barzagli and De Rossi will no longer be given a chance to play in the World Cup finals.

Buffon's sadness at the end of the match touched the fans, as well as numerous players, such as the Albanian National Team goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

In a statement to the media, he said that it’s a real a pity that such a legendary goalkeeper like Buffon would not be able to end his career in the best possible way.

“My father along with Gigi Buffon are my idols. It was really ugly to see him so sad for something that was expected by the entire country. His sadness was conveyed to every Italian fan,” said Strakosha.

He also expressed his support to the team-mates Immobile and Parolo by saying they did the best in the field
