Canada, Various Celebrations on 'Albanian Heritage Month'

Various celebrations and activities are scheduled to take place during this month in the Albanian community in Canada in the framework of the “Albanian Heritage Month”.

The activities started with meetings and visits of the Albanian community representatives in Ontario’s parliament and will continue with special event on November 20 that will have as guest of honor the internationally known Albanian soprano Inva Mula.

The 105th anniversary of Independence will also be commemorated through various celebrations that will culminate with the flag’s rising on Parliament Hill.

Earlier the “Albanian Heritage Month’ was greeted by the Prime Minister of the Province of Ontario, Hon. Kathleen Wynne, who underlined the importance played by the Albanian community in Canada.

“The Albanian Heritage Month "is a time to pay tribute to the Albanian community in this country. The members of this dynamic community continue to help establish and strengthen Ontario by becoming part of our history of multicultural success. I am very grateful for their long-awaited contribution to the social, economic and cultural life of our province,” declared Wynne.
