Albania is constantly monitored by the EU and Schengen countries in relation to the visa liberalization issue. President of the Republic Ilir Meta underlined this fact during a meeting with Ambassadors on Saturday. Referring to this ascertainment the Head of State said that any emotional step taken by Albanian authorities, including the issuing of Albanian passports to the Kosovo citizens would not resolve this issue.
"Kosovo fully deserves visas liberalization. This state's isolation is totally unfair. However, issuing Albanian passports to the Kosovo citizens would only hamper the Albanian citizens free traveling in Schengen countries on view of the fact that we are constantly monitored by EU. On the other side major efforts should be done by the Kosovo's political class to overcome this obstacle," said President Meta.
