Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Marija Pejcinovic Buric, as well as Montenegro's Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic met on Friday in Durres for the 2nd trilateral meeting of Adriatic between Albania, Croatia and Montenegro.
Recalling the Joint Declaration adopted during their first meeting last February in Split, Croatia the ministers reaffirmed the importance of this strategic cooperation platform as a valuable mechanism contributing to the security, stability and prosperity of Southeast Europe.
Albania and Croatia saluted Montenegro’s membership into NATO expressing their satisfaction while stressing the importance of NATO's expansion along the Adriatic coast.
“Montenegro’s membership into NATO will enhance the security and stability of South East Europe and will encourage other candidates to continue with their reform agenda, which will be fully supported by the three countries,” declared the ministers.
Three counterparts also discussed about the current global security challenges while stressing the importance of uniting forces, along with other Alliance members, to withstand the threats posed to the stability and security of the Euro-Atlantic area.
The third trilateral meeting Adriatic between Albania, Croatia and Montenegro will now take place in Montenegro on 2018.
