The opposition's leader, Lulzim Basha ranks 2018 draft-budget three main negative proposals. In a speech in Thursday’s parliamentary session he denounced Prime Minister Edi Rama attempt to infringe country’s economy while favoring his clientage.

“The 2018 draft-budget includes three major proposals which serve entirely to the crime and his clientage. The obligation of every small business to hand over an invoice with Valued Added Tax (VAT) will generate no profits for the budget. Instead, this measure will increase the costs for the small business. This way of doing, highly criticized by International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) experts, will infringe citizens’ wellbeing. The truth is that this is a trick aimed to enable the Premier’s brother, Olsi Rama to take the VAT payment concession. PM Rama will further impoverish over hundreds of thousands of Albanian families with only one purpose, his personal enrichment.

The 2nd proposal that infringe country’s economy is the abrogation of profit tax on construction companies and the VAT decrease to only 6% for the luxury hotels.

The third negative element of this draft-budget is the EUR 1 Billion project labeled as ‘Public-Private Partnership’ that will pave the way to money laundering through the denationalization of every hospital, road and infrastructure,” said Basha.
