Hekuba's Tragedy, known since Greek antiquity, comes in a modern form in the Albanian theater. This tragedy will be presented to the audience thanks to a joint project between the Metropolis Theater and Italian Theater Company “Laminaira”.
‘Hekuba’, which will come on stage under the direction of Febo del Zozzo, aims to intertwine the theatrical examination and physical improvisation with some classical and contemporaneous texts.
The Italian director said that this play is a combination of different plays written by Homer, Brecht and Pasolini which refer to loosing situations, war situations or oppression situations.
“We have chosen a play of Brecht and also an elegy written by Pasolini. Accepting the defeat means that you have the strength within yourself. Having the strength means that you are not violent. This play narrates Hekuba’s story, the loose of her children and everything is conveyed through the body language,” said Zozzo.
This play will be presented also in Spain and Cyprus during the next months.
