State Police cleansing by the corrupted officers or tied to the organized crime will be the main objective of a vetting process that is expected to start next January. This clear and direct warning was made by Prime Minister Edi Rama on Wednesday during an international scientific conference focused on security issues organized in the State Police Academy.
"Vetting process within State Police ranks will produce clearly visible results since next January guaranteeing a high moral integrity which an absolutely necessary condition for this law enforcement body. On the other side I am more than confident that the new generations which will come out of the State Police Academy will become an extraordinary source of transformation for the State Police" said the Premier.
Likewise referring to "The Power of Law" operation he underlined that this enterprise in the fight against criminality will aim to the deepest roots of organized crime which have never been at the focus of police work so far. The seizure of assets with criminal origins will be one of the priorities in order to convey a direct message to those that benefit from criminal activities," said the chief of executive.
