2.4 Tons of Cannabis Seized in Italy, Albanians Arrested

Some 2.4 tons of Cannabis Sativa were seized by the Italian police on Tuesday in the province of Ravenate leading to the arrest of an Italian and three Albanian citizens.
As reported by the Italian media everything started during a routine inspection of the territory conducted during night hours.
The refusal of a van’s driver to stop the vehicle after being signaled by a police patrol led to a brief pursuit which was finalized with the seizure of this huge narcotics quantity.
The police officers also involved in a fire-exchange with the drug traffickers. The patrol’s chief remained injured while trying to disarm one of the arrested Albanians.
The Italian police inquiry aimed to discover the origins and destination of the narcotics quantity is still ongoing.
