Albania is gradually turning into the epicenter of heroin trafficking in Europe. This alarming ascertainment derives by a recently released report of European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCCDA) which labels Albania as a transit country for the heroin's trafficking.
According to EMCCDA the heroin quantities are transported to Albania through trucks, buses, cars and other means. The largest part of the narcotics entering Albania is smuggled to Italy or Greece while a small part of it remains in the country.
The cocaine also enters Albania through couriers or mail deliveries from the United States or Latin America countries, widely known for the narcotics production on a large scale, reports EMCCDA.
