The chairman of Socialist Party (SP) parliamentary group, Taulant Balla demands the immediate discharge of Central Elections Commission (CEC) chair, Klement Zguri. Through an official statement issued on Sunday he argued that Zguri has violated the law for the integrity of those elected, appointed or exercising public functions. Balla’s request is related to the CEC refusal to remove Mallakastra’s mayor Agron Kapllanaj mandate due to his alleged violation of the decriminalization law.

“CEC chairman Zguri openly violated the law for the integrity of those elected, appointed or exercising public functions by refusing to accept SP request for Mallakastra’s mayor Kapllani mandate removal due to the indirect influence by Democrat leader, Lulzim Basha. This way of doing was a clear example of political unilateralism and absence of professionalism. On view of this fact the Albanian Parliament has the obligation to immediately start the procedures for Zguri’s dismissal,” declared Balla.
