Albania and Greece acknowledge the importance of bilateral dialogue as the only instrument to definitively resolve the sensitive issues. This fact was confirmed through a joint declaration issued on Sunday at the end of two-day talks in Crete Island between the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati and his Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias.
"A substantial work was done during these talks that took place under a friendly atmosphere.
Pairs acknowledged the importance of dialogue in solving outstanding issues and agreed on the further steps to be taken to achieve positive results based on European values and norms for the benefit of both countries and their peoples. Talks are a significant step forward and the efforts to find lasting solutions to the long-standing problems will continue. On view of these developments it was agreed that two counterparts will meet again in Albania in order to assess the progress achieved and decide on further concrete steps forward," informed the Albanian and Greek Foreign Ministries.
