Renowned Actor Merkur Bozgo Passes Away

The renowned actor of Albanian theater and cinema, Merkur Bozgo, has passed away at age of 80 due to an incurable illness. Bozgo was born on March 24, 1937 in the city of Gjirokastra and during his artistic activity has played over 30 roles in cinematography and over 100 roles in theater. He completed the studies in Language and Literature at the University of Tirana in 1961 and after that worked in Tirana’s Variety Theater until 1968. His professional career continued with a 7 years period as director in Albanian Radio Television (ART) and then since 1975 he worked as full time actor in the National Theater.

His first role in cinematography was on the comedy "Variety on Screen" in 1968 while the last appearance in 2005a movie was in “Gjoleka, Abaz's son”.
