Corruption, Police Detains even Judge's Cousin

New details on the detainment of the Tirana's Court of Appeal judge Shkelqim Miri on grounds of corruption and abuse of office were released on Friday by the State Police. According to the police judge Miri detainment was based on suspicions that he had received a huge bribery in exchange for the change of charge against a defendant from murder to serious injury.
But late on Friday police informed even for the arrest of his cousin, Kujtim Miri, because he is accused for collaborating with the judge Shkelqim Miri helping him with the corruption. His detainment was made with the order of the Prosecution of Serious Crimes.
Earlier this day, police declared on the issue that:
"A police raid coded 'A second murder' conducted last night by the sector for crime and corruption in the economic and financial crime directory in collaboration with Prosecution of Serious Crimes was successfully finalized with the detainment of Judge Shkelqim Miri. A sum of EUR 174.810, ALL 10.1 Million and USD 1.000 were also seized in quality of material proof in the judge's house. The materials were referred to the prosecution for a further inquiry on grounds of corruption and abuse of office,".
