Prime Minister Edi Rama strongly reacts over his political adversary, the Democrat leader Lulzim Basha who labeled as criminal his speech against the media in Albania. Through a public release on Friday he stated that Basha was the one that should ask for media’s forgiveness on view of his repeated attacks against them during opposition’s three month protest in boulevard.

“The Democrat leader that now plays the role of media defender was the one that repeatedly accused them of being captured through drugs money. The same man now dares to calumniate my person claiming that I have attacked the journalists.

In my opinion respecting the media means even respecting their freedom, even when they lie, but on the other side you can’t remain silent when these lies are accumulated in front of you. I feel sorry for the opposition’s leader that keeps taking over a ridicule role as media’s defender. I would also like to remind him that I fought for media’s freedom and even became subject of physical violence due to my attitude a few years ago,” declared PM Rama.
