Vlora, Military Police Officer Arrested for Passive Corruption

The successful finalization by Vlora police on Thursday of a raid coded “Recruitment” led to the arrest of a military police officer and his collaborator on grounds of passive corruption. The military police officer Deraldon Kamberi, 24 and his accomplice, Erlind Varfi, 23 were arrested in flagrance while in possession of a sum of EUR 2000 obtained through fraud by another citizen.

The origin of this fraud was a promise made to the citizen for a future employment in the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) structures in exchange for the above mentioned sum as bribe.

The materials were referred to Vlora prosecution office for further inquiries. Both arrested individuals are expected to face trial on grounds of passive corruption.
