The 80th anniversary of birth of renowned Albanian director Viktor Gjika is being commemorated with the screening of four among his most famous works in the genre of artistic film, at the premises of the Central State Film Archive. Movies like “White Ways”, “The Eighth in Bronze”, “In Every Season” and “The Man with the Cannon” are being screened in the framework of Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF).
The movies are being screened in the 35mm format with English subtitles as homage for one of the directors that gave a long contribution to the Albanian cinema. Victor Gjika’s work as a mileage stone of the artistic movie genre remains subject of discussion by the cinema critics that try to understand the complex notions of the art and culture in Albania during the communist dictatorship era.
