Drug Gang Busted in Greece, 8 Albanians Arrested

Greek police managed to give a harsh blow to the drugs dealing on Wednesday by arresting a group of Albanian emigrants who used to sell narcotics quantity in Athens schools. Two Greek citizens were also arrested due to their involvement in this criminal organization while another Albanian emigrant was declared wanted by the police. The names of those arrested as part of this criminal group have not yet been made public by the Greek authorities.

According to the Greek police this criminal gang, headed by two Albanian emigrants, respectively 24 and 26 years old, used to smuggle large quantities of cannabis sativa from Albania to Greece. The narcotics quantity was then distributed in small doses in a number of schools in Athens.

The profits gained from the narcotics quantity smuggled only during the last month from Albania to Greece were around EUR 100.000, the Greek media reports. Meantime, the Greek police reported that a sum of EUR 8000 and a gun were seized in quality of material proof during an inspection in the house of one the arrested Albanians.
