The Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) chairwoman, Monika Kryemadhi met on Tuesday with the Small and Medium Business Association chair, Albert Nasto. The problems experienced by the business due to the government's fiscal policies were the highlights of this meeting that took place in SMI's headquarters.
After being acquainted with the concerns expressed by the association's chair Nasto regarding the deterioration of the business climate in relation to the increase of local and national taxes, and particularly with the inclusion of small business in the Value Added Tax (VAT) scheme Kryemadhi expressed SMI's support for tens of thousands of businesses which are currently forced to suffer the catastrophic consequences of this economic and fiscal policy which derives from government's ill-management, lack of vision and inability to develop the country's economy.
"SMI sees the small and medium business as the country's economy backbones, thus strongly supports them acting in the interest of the citizens. This political force also firmly objects the inclusion of the small business in the VAT scheme. We will continue the consultations with the groups of interest and will then present concrete suggestions for fiscal and economic issues," declared Kryemadhi.
