Businessman Sota Case to Be Examined by Serious Crimes Prosecution

Elbasan prosecution announced on Tuesday the incompetency to inquire the businessman Orest Sota, arrested a few days ago while in possession of a sum of EUR 863.000. Thus, his case will from now be examined by the Serious Crimes Court. His file was transferred to the Serious Crimes Prosecution on Tuesday morning while the first session of Sota’s trial is expected to take place after 10 days.
Sota will face trial on grounds of money laundering due to the huge sum of money that was found in his possession during the arrest by the police.
Two boating licenses in the name of former-Interior Minister Sajmir Tahiri were also seized by the police during his arrest.
