Opposition Members of Parliament abandoned the Legal Issues, Public Administration and Human Rights Parliamentary Committee meeting on Monday which was expected to be focused on the draft-budget 2018. This action was a form of protest against the country's security current situation.
The Democrat MP Eduard Halimi said that the draft-budget might be considered only if the country would have a normal government. But according to him the latest developments indicate government's capture by the crime.
"The government stood beside the Habilaj clan providing them with an alibi instead of standing beside the justice. Only a few days ago a businessman was arrested while in possession of EUR 800.000 and the former-Minister of Interior Sajmir Tahiri's boating licenses. Let's not forget that Tahiri swore not long ago that he did not posses such document. Meantime the State Police made every possible attempt to conceal this fact, proving government's capture by the organized crime," said Halimi, before leaving the meeting.
