Drug Band Busted in Italy, Albanians Arrested

The Italian police arrested on Monday two Albanians due to their alleged ties with a cocaine smuggling gang. As reported by the Italian media the arrested Albanians, identified as Nik Dauti, 38, alias “Besnik”, and Artur Mahmutaj, 37 were the head of this drugs smuggling organization.

Their arrest finalized a police raid which led to the seizure of 75 Kilograms of cocaine in Genoa’s harbor. The narcotics quantity was being prepared to be distributed in the entire country.

The gang’s activity was uncovered thanks to the arrest of Massimo Roça, a member of this criminal organization and a series of wiretappings by the police.
