The heated discussions related to the houses demolitions in Himara generated a tensed situation during Thursday’s parliamentary session. The Union for Human Rights Protection (UHRP) party leader, Vangjel Dule accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using a clearly racist language while referring to this issue.

“The cannabis cultivation and drugs smuggling chief held a clearly racist and disruptive speech. An MP that abuses with the hatred and discriminating language must be immediately removed from the podium,” stated Dule.

In a prompt reaction Premier Edi Rama disproved Dule’s claim for the use of racist language while accusing him of using the Greek minority issue for private interests.

“In which part of my speech was the racist language used? The Greek minority is purely a matter of political business to you. On contrary I have absolutely no kind of political business with Greek minority in Albania,” declared PM Rama, addressing to the UHRP chair Dule.
