The opposition's leader, Lulzim Basha launched direct accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama in relation to the cannabis cultivation in Albania.

“Prime Minister Edi Rama is the main promoter of cannabis cultivation in Albania. His regime, along with that of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan is the principal suppliers of Europe with large quantities of drugs. The perfection of drugs smuggling routes during these last 4 years is Albania’s only competition in international level,” declared Basha avoiding the Premier's question on the presence of some Democrat MPs in Himara during the demolition process of some houses.

He also stressed that the country has seen no foreign investment since more than two years due to the state’s capture by the organized crime and the total absence of the rule of law.

“The rule of law is in-existent in a country whose government is captured by the organized crime. Albania is at the same time the number one country in Europe for the narcotics cultivation and the poorest country. If cannabis cultivation is seen as an alternative that the country is moving toward guaranteed failure,” stated PM Rama.
