The Socialist MP, Erion Braçe toughened tones against the Ministry of Agriculture while referring to the agricultural and dairy products trade. During a speech in parliament, part of a hearing with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Niko Peleshi, he blamed this institution for the poor preventive measures against media attacks on this sector.

“It’s up to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to protect the domestic farmers by avoiding any kind of unfair attack by the media. Such attack against the domestically produced watermelon last summer generated large stocks in Divjaka causing many problems for the farmers. No counter-measures were taken by the ministry as a reaction to this negative campaign against the Divjaka farmers,” said Braçe.

He also emphasized that Peleshi’s predecessor Edmond Panariti failed to react despite his continuous warnings about this issue.
